Marut ZAP is born out of our passion for a better & healthy life.
Our journey started when we realized the inefficiency of manual methods in mosquito control that haven’t been upgraded in decades. In a world where data has become a by-word in every avenue, the social sectors have remained mired in the paper age.
All of us, being quite plagued by this menace, we, as techies, have decided to tackle the problem armed with our favourite weapons – technology, data, and compassion.

Who We Work With

Government
We work with public sanitation and health departments to track and improve on-ground practices to mitigate mosquito menace and mosquito-borne risks in India.

Private Organizations
We work with residential communities and commercial spaces to help understand the mosquito prevalence and risks in their localities, thus enabling their choice to ensure healthy living.

Pest Control Organisations
We work with existing Pest control organisations by providing the relevant data to customize and improve their services.

NGOs
We work with NGOs to help fulfill their target in regards to mosquito eradication and awareness generation programs.
Existing Mosquito Control Solutions
Mosquito control methods used today are quite laborious as it takes over 300-man hours to clean one 10acre lake. The work often turns dangerous – snake bites, contagious diseases and so on. The technology used is at least 60 years old! Together, this trifecta has kept mosquito control protocols mired in ages past.

The Problem
Socio-Economic Costs of Mosquitoes
The socio-economic burden due to malaria alone is pegged at around $1.94 billion and dengue for a billion more. About 1 billion people in India live in an endemic area and are prone to risk. As per the World Health Organization, diseases such as Dengue, Malaria push more and more people into poverty each year.
The Problem
Existing Mosquito Control Solutions
Mosquito control methods used today are quite laborious as it takes over 300-man hours to clean one 10acre lake. The work often turns dangerous – snake bites, contagious diseases and so on. The technology used is at least 60 years old! Together, this trifecta has kept mosquito control protocols mired in ages past.

What We Do
We developed solutions to address vector-borne diseases using Data Science, IoT and AI supported by entomology, ecological sciences & statistical modelling

End to End Mosquito Control Solutions
We have developed a comprehensive mosquito control program that is contiguous, effective and sustainable. Our solutions include real-time mosquito prevalence data, anti-larvae operations, automated interventions, effective IEC campaigns, and efficient field operations using IoT sensors.

Disease Prediction and Prevention Model
To predict and prevent dengue and malaria outbreaks, we build a contiguous system with data collected across the process with a 95% accurate model for use by all the stakeholders – Governments, Citizens and Pest Control Organisations.

Surveillance
‘Prevention is better than cure’ - though overused, it remains apt. To enable this prevention, our platform provides AI and IoT-backed surveillance of mosquitoes - presence and abundance.

Intervention
Surveillance is the first step, which we then follow up with recommending appropriate actions to the relevant authorities to ensure effective and continuous interventions.

Forecasting
We are building India’s first AI algorithm to predict vector-borne disease risk and spread. With this, we can reduce the incidence rate, plan resource deployment, and better impact socio-economic fall-out.

Testimonials
We have seen a minimum 60% reduction in mosquito breeding after each spray. We used to spend about 4-5L per lake before, now we spend about Rs 25000 and with increased efficiency. We are able to avoid undignified work for our workers in these lakes…and now employ them for indoor spraying and other work.
